I have just updated Topaz AI Gigapixel. Unfortunately, now when I upload an image the program crashes after a couple of seconds and closes down. Do you have any ideas as to why this might be so? How can I fix it? The program worked perfectly before the update.

Hi,
There is a annoying web design flaw in the mobile phone (portrait mode) forum design that is causing horizontal scroll in the mobile (phone) browser. The effect is that when you scroll up or down the page is moving to the right or left. Most users use portrait mode on their phone so that has to be taken in account when designing a website.
The cause is that the content is to wide for the view port, because of the “profile image”, “Views” and the “Time stamp” next to the post.
The solution is simple and can be done with a media query and some lines of CSS that is placing the above named items at the bottom or on top of the post instead of next to it at a certain device width (around 380px/500px)!
When you show this to your web designer he or she can fix it in a couple of minutes.
Regards & Thanks,
David

How do you save an actual mask when using Mask AI as a Photoshop Plugin? The user guide tells you to to select File > Save As, but there’s no such thing in the plugin. It seems there are no options for saving the mask itself. What am I missing?

As much as I love Topaz…
Photo editing tools traditionally are judged by their end result, how easy they are to use, what amazing differences they make to the image, that sort of thing. Who really cares about the coding process if it works? Topaz have always been good at this, making things work - until recently. Puzzlingly, the focus has been turned on its head and has shifted away from wooing customers with amazing end-result features to worshiping the actual process of how it is put together, putting it under the epithet of the much overrated AI moniker. Which is misdescribed, as artificial intelligence does not exist. Not yet, anyway. What Topaz and a dozen other photo software developers are actually using is Machine Learning and calling it AI.
AI apps are huge, they take longer to download and install, they gobble up resources and are slow to use. But are they they really any better? I’m not seeing any hard evidence that they are. Studio 2 is a constipated stripped-down version of the original and, despite all the updates, those amazing end-result developments have practically stalled. Mask AI is not faring much better, and AI Sharpen produces reasonably good results if you have all day to wait for it to process, very slowly, one image at a time.
But, looking on the bright side, I bet the coding is a joy to behold!

I downloaded the latest Topaz Studio 2. After the download, it asked to sign-in before installing. I started to input my user name and PW but before finishing it went into the setup Wizard where it just hung up there forever. I had allowed uninstall for the prior version so now I cannot use TS 2 at all. It always does the same thing on sign-in and the setup wizard. I still have the original Topaz Studio installed so using that for now. Anyone else get this problem?

I have followed instructions for migrating the presets, but can’t get beyond the area where I’ve found the tgrc folder. I highlight it but the “Open” button is still grayed out. There are a list of files in that folder, but they are all grayed out as well. Please help as I would like to migrate my presets and textures to Topaz Studio 2.

I recently installed Studio 2.2 on my Mac running Catalina. It works fine as a standalone, but I have an issue with using it as a plug in from Affinity Photo. The plug in starts up fine, and does what I want it to do - but doesn’t return the changes to Affinity when I accept the changes. It works fine on my PC. Any suggestions?

Went to update Studio 2 to 2.2.0. It deletes the previous version and installs the latest. However the latest version will not boot. Opened a ticket, did what they suggested but still will not boot and my old version is gone so no Studio 2 at all.
It’s been 3 days now and no response from Topaz. I paid over $400 for this software and now I have nothing and no support.

Topaz Studio 2.2.0 can not be installed and Topaz Customer Service refers with a link to the online installer that does not do what it is supposed to do.

I have been using Topaz plugins for years and have never had such installation problems.
The Topaz Studio 2.2.0 installer does not work in my Tower PC.All subsequent attempts to install Studio 2.2.0 failed:
Out of Topaz Studio 2 Beta
TopazStudio2-Online-Installer.exe as Admin
Deinstallation Topaz Studio 2 Beta

a bitrock_installer.log

Script exit code: 0
Script output: 404 page not foundIn Windows Powershell I checked the Script Execution Policy and changed CurrentUser Restricted to CurrentUser Unrestricted.
The parameter Unrestricted will run all scripts, a warning will be issued for unsigned and downloaded scripts from the Internet.
But unfortunately that did not help.In the above line “Executing C:…” it says “Install Canceled”. I do not understand why? Because of anonymous ID? Or because of a163c89b19ca81ed23bf33bfc427de88 after which I searched in my PC and Registry without result?
For every suggestion to solve this problem I would be very grateful.

How can we bypass the gigapixel resolution limit of 32,000?? Thank you for any information. Our current solution would be splitting the images into tiles to then upres, and stitch back together to get a higher res than 32000, but its not an ideal workflow.

I am not sure if this is an issue with Gigapixel itself or with Apples brand new MacOS Catalina, but whenever Gigapixel is minimized to the Dock or on a seperate space/desktop which is currently not the space in front after a minute or two the CPU clocks down even if Gigapixel is heavy working.

To start off, I was using Studio 2.1 or whatever the previous version was with no problems. I finally acknowledged the update notice and it went into it’s auto update process. Lot’s of errors with wrong versions of various components. I eventually just had to ignore them. Studio 2.2 finally installed, but would not run. It gave a runtime exception… So I checked the forum and seeing a few other complaints but not this exact one, I decided to do a clean install. By that, I mean I used a commercial uninstaller program to remove studio 2 and all it’s left over registry entries and files, over which there were many! (as an aside, when will software engineers on the windows platform create an uninstaller that actually uninstalls everything?)
I then downloaded the installer and it installed without a hitch. Now to use it. I first went back to a Fuji Raw file (not an x-trans raw, but a bayer raw from an XA3) that I had been working with before. Right off the bat the blue sky was an ugly pink. I used another commercial product to create an Adobe compatible DNG file, which opens just find in PSE. In Studio 2.2 it’s an even uglier shade of pink than the raw conversion, no amount of fiddling with white balance controls can make it even acceptable.
So, until this is fixed, Studio 2.2 is useless to me. Oh, by the way, the updater on my old version of studio 2 also told me it was uninstalling the beta version, which is just wrong. I should have stopped there, this new version is clearly flawed in many ways. Can you make the previous verison installer available so we can go back to a working version of studio 2?

I am a new to Studio but have been using Texture Effects for quite a while.
One thing that I find really confusing and sometimes even annoying is the handling of sliders.
When I grab a slider for the first time and drag it back and forth, the value is constantly updated. Ok - this is expected behaviour.
If I release the slider, later come back and again and start dragging it back and forth, the image effect is updated but the slider value remains unchanged at the value it had when I started dragging. Why is the value not updated anymore? This happens only if I click on another slider.
In some instances (I have encountered this situation several times) the slider and value cannot be modified anymore, it just jumps back to “0” as soon as you leave. You need to remove the filter, add it again and start from scratch.
Is that a bug, or what is the trick to handle sliders in Studio?
Thanks
Karsten
