Start an image in PS (from CC, in PSD format, AdobeRGB 16-bit). Clone my layer and go to Simplify. Select an effect (in this case, Oil Painting Toned II) and apply it. When I get back into PS I find that what was actually applied was (sort of, kind of) Oil Painting II. Undo, try again, same results. Undo, Save the document, get out of PS, come back in, same results. Get out of PS, close PS down completely, come back in, it works as expected and all is well.
In this last case, I had just used Adjust to make some changes. I don't know whether previous failures have been after this same set of steps, but I shall pay attention to that. I can work around it, but thought someone would want to know.
Windows 8.1 64-bit, PS CC (up to date), Simplify is up to date as of last week (AFAIK).
